Certipost involves customers in launch e-Contracting
AALST, 4 June 2009 – Certipost, the Belgian market leader in electronic document exchange, announces the launch of e-Contracting, a user-friendly solution for electronically signing, sending and archiving contracts. It is obvious that Certipost considers product development as a two-way process. Not only did the subsidiary of The Belgian Post Group develop its new solution in close collaboration with its customers, but now users can also actively participate in the product development process via an online forum.
Since 2 August 2007, employment contracts can be signed electronically. A number of specific obligations – including archiving requirements - must be met in order to be legally valid. In this context Certipost has developed the e-Contracting solution, which meets all rules and regulations. “Our solution focuses on the recruitment sector and social secretariats in particular, but also on insurance companies and public utility companies,” says Dirk Matheussen, acting CEO at Certipost. “The possibilities are endless.”
Certipost is the first company in Belgium to put e-Contracting into practice. The provider recently initiated a project at a large media concern. An increasing number of freelancers working for that company will receive their contracts for temporary assignments electronically. The digitisation and automation of the contracting process offers the sender numerous benefits, such as reduced response times, handling costs and chance of errors. Moreover, the contracts can be accessed anytime, anywhere via an online archive and remain saved, according to legal terms, for a period of five years after termination of the contract.
For the recipient, Certipost e-Contracting is particularly user-friendly. The process of signing an electronic employment contract is very straightforward. Private individuals will receive the electronic contract in myCertipost, a free mailbox where invoices, pay slips and other sensitive documents can be securely received and stored. With just one mouse click the document is accepted and electronically signed, using an eID. Business users receive the electronic employment contract via their Bizmail account. In order to sign electronically in their professional capacity, they can use a digital certificate which proves their professional identity. Digital certificates are available in the Certipost webshop (www.certipost.be/webshop).
Online forum
Certipost has opened a forum on its website where customers can express their opinion on the new e-Contracting solution, as well as on other services. By means of this forum, Certipost wants to allow its customers to participate even more actively in the development and continuous improvement of its products. “A product is only successful when it is perceived as such by the stakeholders,” says Dirk Matheussen. “Innovation revolves around more than mere technology. It also requires listening to the customer and being open to new ideas.” The forum enables companies to network and share experiences with other sector players. This way, Certipost aims to make the international community of 60,000 companies on the CertiONE platform more transparent.
