Digital document exchange past pioneering stage

AALST, 12 October 2010 – Certipost, subsidiary of bpost and specialist in secure electronic message exchange, is shifting the focus of its activities to service management. With this new approach, the company is responding proactively to the changing market demands. According to Gert Roeckx, CEO of Certipost since December 2009, digital document exchange has moved past the pioneering stage.

In consultation with its parent company bpost, Certipost defines its role in today’s secure electronic communications market. “Today we are facing the chasm between the early adopters, a relatively small user group that eagerly embraces new technologies, and the early majority, a larger group of buyers who are willing to adopt a product once it has proven its added value,” says Roeckx. As a result, aside from technology, additional services are playing an increasingly decisive role for companies in selecting a service provider.

Service management
In order to effectively meet the increasing market demand, Certipost is evolving from a technology-centric to a service-oriented organisation. This shift in focus is reflected in the establishment of a Service Management department. “We want to build a long-term trust relationship with our customers by ensuring the quality of our services,” says Roeckx. “This entails intensive project follow-up with regular progress reporting, resolving complaints or problems quickly and correctly, and providing our customers with a diverse, transparent Service Level Agreement package.”

Growth and international expansion
The evolution of transactions on the Certipost electronic platform reflects the current market trend. More and more companies are integrating digital document exchange within their daily business processes. As a result, the number of transactions has increased by more than 30% against last year.

The share of international transactions is also steadily proceeding, accounting today for 20% of Certipost's turnover. The Certipost e-Invoicing solution is fully compliant with the EU directive and the national VAT legislations in 27 European countries. Thanks to roaming agreements and partnerships, Certipost reaches over 100,000 companies throughout Europe.
